Janie Sue Thompson was born to Gearold "Bud" Sanders and Betty Jean Main Sanders on June 7, 1953 in Woodward, Oklahoma. She grew up in Vici and Woodward, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Woodward High School in 1971. Janie was married to Roger Dunkin on June 1, 1973 in Woodward. They made their home in Woodward. She worked at the Underwear Factory until it closed. When Roger was killed, her heart was broken. Then she found new life and love when she married Leroy Thompson on July 14, 1990 in Woodward. They lived in Woodward and a small stint in Florida which expanded Janie's comfort zone.
Janie loved learning and sharing what she had learned. She eagerly anticipated each Friday at the Senior Circle at Woodward Hospital and the speakers that would share.
She had a love for nieces and nephews like no other. They delighted her so much. She was a caring sister, aunt, and friend to all and known to be mischevious at times. She will be missed immensely.
She is survived by her sisters, Jeanne Rosson and husband Earl of Woodward; Linda Louthan and husband Kim of Woodward; Sharrie Nielsen and husband Rodney of Omaha, Nebraska; Mary Sanders of Woodward; one brother Gary Sanders of Stillwater; step-children, Tabetha Hores; Chad Thompson and Christina Thompson; nieces, nephews and great nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Janie was preceded in death by her husbands, Roger Dunkin and Leroy Thompson; one child, her brother Billy Sanders and her parents, Gearold "Bud" and Betty Sanders.
