Hollis A. Boyle, surrounded by her family, caught a ride to Heaven on June 3, 2015 in Amarillo at the age of 92. Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Nate Magloughlin officiating. Private interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Hollis was born December 18, 1922 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Donald and Chloie Duncan. Hollis graduated from Woodward College with a business degree. She then married her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, Ralph Gordon Boyle, on July 3, 1942, in Long Beach, CA, but the young couple soon returned to Woodward. While her husband was overseas during WWII, she was the secretary of the First Baptist Church until his return from the war. In 1957 the family moved to Amarillo. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family. Once the children became older she began working at Potter-Randall County Tax office where she worked for over twenty five years. The couple enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to travel throughout the world and had visited Tanzania on three separate occasions. As an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, she and her husband Gordon were directors of the Single’s Department for many years. Using her gift of hospitality, and devotion to the Lord, she entertained many missionaries and Tanzanian Nationals at her home. She loved to line dance with the Senior Citizen’s Association Dance; they danced for the Big Texan, schools and many local organizations. While at Park Place, Hollis fit right in. She played cards and enjoyed the many daily activities. The family would like to acknowledge the special relationship that formed with Dean and Leah Armstrong as the adopted grandmother to their children. She touched the lives of many, whether by her hospitality or sincerity as a friend, many considered Hollis to be their best friend. Her love and devotion to the Lord spilled over to those who met her and she had many friends because she first was a good friend to them. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:30 PM until 6:30 PM.
