Herbert Lawrence Rutledge was born in Woodward County, OK, on March 14, 1929, and passed away on July 29, 2017, in Lewisville, TX. He was 88.
He married Betty Frazier. They had two daughters, Linda and Teena.
He worked for the railroad, ending up as the station manager in Broomfield, CO.
Not only did he build several family homes, but he also built and flew an airplane. In Erie the family owned a dome home with a hangar for his airplane. After retirement, he sold the property and moved around the country in his motor home, enjoying many adventures. His last few years were spent in Lewisville, TX, with his granddaughter, Tena, and her family.
He is survived by his daughter, Teena; his granddaughter, Tena; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Anna Marie, Caleb and Jeremy; his brothers, Albert, Leroy, Calvin, Louis, Jack and Ralph; and his best friend, Steve.
A celebration of his life will be on August 12, 2017, at the Northwest Inn from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
