Gerry M. Theriault


Gerry Theriault, 76 year old Woodward resident, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019 at his home in Woodward. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the St. Peter Catholic Church with Reverend Joe Arledge presiding. The family will greet friends at the Billings Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Family Rosary being held at 6:00 p.m. in the Billings Chapel. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Gerard Marcel Theriault was born on January 9, 1943 in Lowell, Massachusetts to Valmont and Armond (Harrison) Theriault. He grew up in Tyngsbouro, Massachusetts and graduated from high school in Lowell, Massachusetts. Gerry was inducted into the United States Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War. He worked as an Engineer at the Raytheon Corporation in Bedford, Massachusetts for 45 years and was instrumental in the electronic design for the Patriot Missile.

He was united in marriage to Dottie Austin on August 18, 1989 in Stoneham, Massachusetts. They made their home in Haverhill, Massachusetts before moving to Woodward, Oklahoma in 2003. They have continued living in Woodward since that time.

Gerry was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Woodward. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Gerry was also a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed bird watching from his back deck and feeding the birds. He loved spending time with his family, especially his stepchildren and grandchildren and his dog Dante meant the world to him.

He is survived by his wife, Dottie Theriault of the home; two step-daughters, Alice Sales and fiancee Mike Boner of Iowa; Amy DelVecchio and husband Eric; five grandchildren: Steffan, Johannes, and Riley Sales; Amanda Rich and husband Tony, and Jeremiah Quinn; two great-grandchildren, Oakley and Tessa Rich; father-in-law, P. Jerry Austin of Woodward; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Rodger Theriault, and step-son Wayne Packard.
