Franklin D. Shive, Jr., 57 year old former Woodward resident, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Arlington, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Woodward. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Franklin Delano Shive, Jr. was born on March 14, 1960 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Franklin Delano and Patricia Mae (Kincaid) Shive. Frank grew up in Enid, Moore, and then Woodward. He attended Woodward schools and graduated from Woodward High School in 1978. After graduating from school, he went to work in the Automotive Supply business and continued working in that same business. He was united in marriage to Janice Creason on April 1, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their first home in Oklahoma City before moving to Dallas, Texas in 1990.
He was affiliated with the First Baptist Church. Frank enjoyed golfing, stock car racing, wood working and officiating adult slow pitch softball. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother, Pat Shive of Woodward; one son, Matthew Creason and wife Leslie; two brothers: Craig Shive and wife Lynda of Choctaw, Alan Shive of Woodward; three grandchildren: Kylar, Mattix, Karson; nephews, Landry Shive and wife Courtney, Gentrie and Eastyn and Andy Schlaepfer; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin D. Shive, grandparents, and a sister-in-law, Cindy Shive.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Bus Fund with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
