Everett Winston Stewart
Everett was born on October 2, 1938 in Hutchinson, KS to parents Everett and Genieva (Nelson) Stewart and was the grandson of Vernon and Vesta Stewart, all of Woodward. Everett married Vickie George on November 17, 1962 in Waynoka, OK. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma State University in 1963 and a Masters Degree from Ft. Hays State College in 1965.
Everett worked several years as a guidance counselor in Marysville, KS. He then took a job in the Human Resources Department of Illinois Natural Gas Co. in Glen Ellyn, IL. Everett also worked in Human Resources for the W.R. Grace Company in Woodward, OK, prior to moving to Bartlesville in 1980 to join the HR Department of Phillips Petroleum Company. In 1983, his career took another path when he started Equitable Financials Services, of which he retired from in 2005.
Everett was a big OSU sports fan and was a member of the OSU Sigma Chi Fraternity, of which he was very involved with their Alumni Association. He graduated high school from Oklahoma Military Academy at Claremore. Everett enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid golfer and hunter. He loved animals, especially his Labradors. He also enjoyed playing cards and was a Duplicate Bridge player. Everett was a very devoted family man and had a great love for his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include wife Vicki of the home; a daughter Stephanie Stewart Royce and husband Michael of Tulsa; a son Trey Stewart and wife Erica of Mansfield, TX; and four grandchildren; Anna Royce and Hank Royce of Oklahoma City and Rett Stewart and Sarah Beth Steward of Mansfield, TX.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Bartlesville First Church with Reverend Doctor Greg Tener officiating. Cremation and arrangements were under the director of Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.
