Everett Eldon Long, Jr., 59 year old Woodward resident, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Woodward with the Reverend Jeff Barros and Reverend Jason Dirks officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. at the Forgan Cemetery, Forgan, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home.

Everett (Junior) was born on November 27, 1959 in Beaver, Oklahoma to Everett Eldon Sr. and Neoma Mae (Johnson) Long. Junior grew up in Forgan and graduated from Forgan High School in 1978. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He was united in marriage to Katy Bennett on May 17, 1986. They made their first home on the farm in Beaver before moving to Woodward in 2008.

Junior worked for eleven years at DISCO Machine and almost 13 years for Cooper Compression before going to work at CSI Compressco LP in 2007. He was working there at the time of his death. Junior was a long time salesman and he loved his customers. He was also the Chairman of the Tri-State Oil & Gas Conference committee.

He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Woodward. He loved all things family and enjoyed being with family and friends. He loved football, especially Kansas State football. Through his years in the Oil Patch, he received numerous awards, including the Trailblazer Award- Super Jack Project, the Golden Eagle Award, the Account Manager of the Year, the Presidents Club Award and Rookie of the Year award.

He is survived by his wife Katy Long of the home; two sons: Drew Long and wife Brenna of Cushing, Oklahoma; Logan Long of Woodward, who is attending Kansas State University; one sister Jeannie Norris of Slaton, Texas; a special aunt, Marlene Nichols of Joplin, Missouri; special lifetime friends, Tony and Cindy Mikles, Ted and Cathy Lilly, Duke and Jackie Harmon, Braden and Allison Bennett, Terry and Jimmie Sue Fenimore and the best neighborhood in Woodward.

Junior was preceded in death by his father, Everett Long and his mother Neoma Long.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church #85 Fund with the funeral home accepting the contributions.

Praying for Gods comfort as you go through this time. Junior was a friend and made us feel so welcome when we came to Woodward. We will miss his smile and visits at the door.
