Burnice married James Mrylen "Jim" Loomis on October 12, 1940 in Buffalo. They made their home in Dension, Texas; later moving to Texarkana, Texas and Pueblo, Colorado before moving back to Woodward. They farmed and operated a dairy, until the 1947 tornado, when the dairy was discontinued.
