Donald Eugene Rosendale
Don Edwin Rosendale was born on April 9, 1936 to Orville and Lillian Edwards Rosendale in Woodward, Oklahoma. He departed this life on January 8, 2019 at the age of 82 years. He spent his first years on a farm north of Woodward.
He received his grade school and high school education in Woodward. He was in the National Guard Reserves for ten years and reported for duty every summer.
Don realized his need of a Savior and became a member of the Church of Christ.
Don married Mildred Fast at Adams, Oklahoma on December 28, 1974. They made their home in Woodward. A daughter, Lisa Kimberly was born January 6, 1976. They enjoyed her growing up years.
In 1956, Don opened a shoe repair shop. After a few years he moved his shop to The Outpost. Don did outstanding work in repairing shoes. He bought old boots, restored and sold them. Mildred began working in the shop and they added western and antique items to sell. They closed the shop in 1992. They continued buying and selling on E-Bay and at flea markets and antique malls.
Don enjoyed traveling. Trips to Dallas, Texas, Santa Fe, New Mexico and the Gulf Coast combined sightseeing and business.
Daughter Lisa married Timothy Hurt on December 1, 1996. Don and Mildred welcomed grandson Rodney Dean into the family. In August of the following year Lisa experienced headaches and the medical report revealed that she had brain cancer. Lisa graduated to heaven at the age of 22 years. This was a great loss to the family.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He made sure his daughter was faithful in church and was taught the Bible.
Dons health began to fail in his seventies, and he became a resident of Grace Living Center in Woodward in the summer of 1913. In July 2014, he moved to Corn Heritage Village, Corn, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife Mildred, Corn, Oklahoma; Grandson, Rodney Hurt, Norman, Oklahoma; sister Verda McCubbin, Woodward; numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Laveta and daughter Lisa.
