Events

Dale Oldham, 91 year old Woodward resident, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 in Mooreland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the First Christian Church with the Reverend Ronnie Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Full Military rites will be conducted by the United States Army. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Marvin Dale Oldham was born on June 24, 1928 in Duncan, Oklahoma to C.I. and L.M. (Hopson) Oldham. Dales younger years were spent in California and Oklahoma. Dale met Bessie Mae Falkenstein in Stillwater while attending Oklahoma A&M College. They were united in marriage on September 26, 1947 in Chandler, Oklahoma. To this union three children were born: Dan, Larry, and Mike. After Dales graduation from Oklahoma A&M, the family moved to Bixby and then later to Eufaula, Oklahoma. In 1950 Dale was sent to Korea with the 180th Infantry Regiment of the 45th Infantry Division. Bessie loaded the boys up and moved to Stillwater and lived with her sister Ruth Ann. In 1971 the family moved to Woodward. Dale served his country and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

He was a member of the First Christian Church. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening and being with his family. Dale is currently married to Ann Lee Oldham.

He is survived by his son Dan Oldham of Woodward; his wife Ann Lee Oldham of Woodward; four grandchildren: Kayla Ford, Jennifer Tunks, Lori Dickinson, and Lacey Thompson; eight great-grandchildren: Jonah and Emmalyn Ford, Leslie and Mollie Tunks, Emmerson and Lynli Dickinson, Alexis and Wayland Thompson; two sisters, Shirley McCroskey, Betty Beam and husband Ozell; sister-in-law, Sue Oldham; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie Mae Oldham, son Larry Oldham, son Mike Oldham, sister Bonnie Weeks, brothers, Wayne Oldham and Bob Oldham.
