Funeral services for Craig Harvey will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Woodward with Reverend Shannon Davis and Reverend Charlie Graves officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Marion Craig Harvey was born October 23, 1955 in Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Guy and Rama Harvey. He grew up in the small town of Laverne, Oklahoma, graduating with the Class of 1973. He was united in marriage to Kathy J. Harvey on July 2, 1987 in Pampa, Texas. On October 15, 2018 Craig left this life on earth to celebrate with Jesus and be reunited with his late son Justin.
Craig was a talented athlete in football, basketball, but most of all baseball. He spent his high school summers playing with the Woodward American Legion Travelers. He was drafted out of high school by the New York Yankees but decided to play at the University of Oklahoma. He was later drafted and signed with the Cleveland Indians in 1975. After his baseball career he returned to college at Oklahoma State University to earn a degree in Petroleum Engineering Technology in 1984. His love for baseball continued after his professional days. He met his wife Kathy playing co-ed softball in Pampa, Texas.
Craig and Kathy started their married life in Midland, Texas, where he furthered his career in the oil & gas industry. They had 3 children- Kacey, Travis, & Justin over their 32 years of marriage and created a beautiful family life together. Craig was a very smart and hardworking man who enjoyed his career as a Production Superintendent at Tapstone Energy. Craig believed in staying fit and was an avid gym goer throughout his life. Craig enjoyed watching his children play sports and never missed a game or track meet. He was known for getting to the football stadium 2 hours early to watch the warm ups. Craig would cook steaks on Thursday nights for his family before each big football game. His passion for his kids sports continued into track season when he would be up in the stands, ready with his stop watch, in preparation for track meets. He would spend countless hours with his boys playing catch and taking batting practice. He was an extremely supportive husband and father. Craigs passion for traveling was ignited by his families first trip to Oahu, Hawaii. Over the past 5 years Craig and Kathy enjoyed venturing out of their normal yearly Colorado vacation. They traveled to Alaska, Mexico, Sandusky Ohio, multiple different islands of Hawaii, and took many different cruises.
Craig is survived by his beloved wife Kathy Harvey, his daughter Kacey and her husband Shane Hulin; his son Travis Harvey and fiancé Allison Meinders, and soon to be born 1st grandson Kobie Hulin; his parents Guy & Rama Harvey; his sister Kathleen and her husband Stan Walker; his brother Lon and his wife Debbie Harvey and many cousins, nieces, & nephews. Craig was predeceased in death by his son Justin Craig Harvey and his sister Shelia Harvey.
Craig left behind many core values that he passed down to his loved ones. He instilled work ethic, toughness, discipline, and prioritizing family. His family will forever cherish the memories they have with him and he will be forever missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Justin Harvey Memorial Fund at The Stock Exchange Bank in Woodward, OK. Donations can be received at Stock Exchange, Billings Funeral Home, or at the service. All funds will be donated to the Make a Wish Foundation in honor of Craig & Justin Harvey. The Make a Wish Foundation holds a special place in our hearts. Make A Wish sent our family of 5 to Hawaii during Justins battle with cancer. We have many special memories from that vacation and know the importance of families getting to take that last vacation together. Craig loved Hawaii and he and Kathy went back multiple times after that.
