Bobby Long was born April 24, 1934 south of May, Oklahoma on the family farm in Ellis County, Oklahoma to Carl and Maude (Sunderland) Long. Bob grew up 6 ½ miles south of May on the family farm and attended May Schools, graduating with the class of 1953.

He was united in marriage to Loretta Weiszbrod on June 10, 1955 in Woodward, Oklahoma with Lennes Jones as his best man and Darlene Pittman as Lorettas maid of honor. They made their home five miles south of May on Grandpa Fred Longs place. Bob went to work for Western State Hospital in 1955 and continued there until 1957 when he was drafted into the United States Army. He served his country until being honorably discharged in 1959, but continued serving in the Army Reserves until 1961.

After his stint in the Army, Bob and Leo Pacy Long started farming and had a dairy together. They sold the dairy in 1974, but continued farming together for over 50 years until Pacys death in 2012. They both said they never had an argument or fight during all those years.

Bob was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gage. He was also a longtime member of the May Cemetery Board. He loved to talk to friends, play cards, tease and play practical jokes. Bob was known to sit in the middle of the road or in a wheatfield for hours talking to neighbors and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Loretta Long of the home; one daughter Pam Wells and husband Terry of Tuttle; two grandchildren, Courtney Risley and husband Brandon of Edmond and Cade Wells of Tulsa; two great-granddaughters: Everett Court and Saylor Ellis Risley; one sister, Aldene Burgess of Ft. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Maude Long, in-laws, Tom and Glendena Weiszbrod, sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille and Darwin Wingo, Twyla and Roland Simon; brothers: Clifton and Leo Pacy Long, brother-in-law, Gene Weiszbrod, special nephew Bill Wingo and brother-in-law, J.D. Burgess. He was also preceded in death by lifelong friends, Derrell and Bess Wilkerson, Jim Fields, Lennes Jones, Calvin and Elaine Laughrey and Golden Ishmael.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the May Cemetery Association, with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
