Albert E. Williams, 88 year old Woodward resident died Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 9, 2017 in the First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Albert Edray Williams was born May 18, 1928 in Woodward, Oklahoma the son of Wille E. and Almira Katherine (Bush) Williams. Albert was reared in the Freedom area and graduated from Freedom High School. He was united in marriage to Clara Rose Carey on January 24, 1959 at Clovis, New Mexico, the couple made their home on a farm west of Freedom. Albert worked as an auctioneer, and real estate broker. His true passion was farming and ranching, being a steward of the land. Albert spent countless hours taking care of his land and his livestock.
He was a member of the Woodward County Conservation District, an advocate for local FFA chapters, and also a member of the Woodward Moose Lodge.
Albert is survived by his loving wife Clara of the home; sons, Dr. Robert E. Williams and wife Nancy of Kansas City, Missouri; Willie E. Williams and wife Betsy of Freedom; three step-daughters, Darlene Carter of Dell City; Carolyn Guthrie of Woodward; Cynthia Guthrie of Enid; 22 grand children; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; several other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William E. Williams; Homer E. Williams; Vernon E Williams; one granddaughter, Jessica Scruggs; one sister, Blanche Raper.
